GLS Selected as Landscape Architect for South Boston Park

GLS has been selected to design Barnard Place Park in Southie! We are so honored and excited to be chosen as the Landscape Architect for a new neighborhood park in South Boston. Our rockstar client team, the Barnard Place Park non-profit, saved this parcel from development and won a Community Preservation Grant from the City of Boston. Together we will transform this derelict greenspace into a thriving and dynamic park for the neighborhood. It will be a modern and much needed outdoor respite during the COVID-19 pandemic and for generations to come. The park will offer a shade canopy, flowering memorial tree, flexible plaza space, bocce court, and pollinator gardens. We can’t wait to get started!

We have to give credit to the amazing designers and coordinators from the non-profit group, COG , who helped develop the initial concept for the park. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
