Goode Landscape Studio (GLS) is a Providence-based landscape architecture practice focused on shaping urban space and landscapes at a range of scales. We are committed to addressing critical ecological and social issues through our work. Our approach focuses on collaboration, design rigor, and partnership. We are passionate about improving the diversity and resilience of the ecosystems and communities where we work to build capacity and combat climate change and inequity. Each site and community has a wealth of stories, and we seek to understand and infuse these unique narratives and aspirations into each project.

GLS is looking for a highly motivated summer intern that shares our values, design rigor, and collaborative spirit to work on a range of projects in the New England area. These projects include master plans and construction documentation for parks, plazas, waterfronts, and sacred spaces. This opportunity is paid, full time (35-45 hours per week), and will be remote with opportunities for socially-distanced, masked, company outings, and site visits. We value our interns and are committed to providing mentorship, real project experience, and ethical working conditions for everyone in our small but growing firm.

Preference is given to students based in the New England area who will be graduating in 2022 from an accredited master’s degree program in landscape architecture. Successful applicants will have strong skills in hand sketching, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCAD, and Rhino. Experience with GIS, AfterEffects, and Grasshopper are a plus.

Responsibilities include:

-Participation in project meetings and charettes

-Preparing renderings and graphics for presentations

-3D modeling and physical model building

-Experience contributing to real firm projects and promotional endeavors

-Working closely with firm leadership

-Collaborating with a range of teammates to work through design challenges

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume, and portfolio to: kmurgo@goodelandscapestudio.com with ‘Summer Internship Applicant’ in the subject line, no later than March 22nd, 2021. The total file size for all application materials should be no larger than 12mb.
